Delia*s Challenge

I got a “$25 off when you spend $50 card” from Delia’s recently, and being on a budget, I wanted to stick to as close to $50 as possible. I also wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I challenged myself to get the best deal I could. My other challenge was to avoid looking like the other girls shopping at Delia’s: 15 years old and a size 000. The clothes seem to have immatured since my last visit, so it took me about an hour to make my final selection. How’d I do?

Thrifting on a Budget
26 NovI went to my favorite thrift store today (after leaving the house to “get lunch”). I’m on a super tight budget until i graduate in 3 weeks, so I had to be super particular what I bought and what I left behind. The winnings:

22 NovMy local thrift store has “Customer Appreciation” day on Sundays & Mondays. Even though it’s my not favorite spot for thrifting, I like to at least see what there since everything is at least 30% off. I didn’t find much but did score a few cute things:

Steal of the Moment: Target Christmas Graphic Tees $9.99

Target has adorable, screen printed shirts for Christmas! It was hard to choose between Hello Kitty and Oscar the Grouch, but Minnie & Mickey ultimately won me over. The price wasn’t bad either, $9.99. I still plan on thrifting for a gaudy, over-the-top sweater, however.

Mini Delia*s BARGAIN Haul

Whilst shopping on my birthday, I almost died to see a Delia*s at a semi-local mall. It was the first catalog I ever subscribed to in the mail, and I wore their Paul Frank tees (Cozy Molars, anyone?) and screen printed tees religiously. At the age of 13 or so, I almost died (the first time) when I saw my local mall had opened a Delia’s! It was truly my first interaction with “designer” items, realizing that JCPenney’s was not as cool as my mom thought. The clothes were semi-pricey (more…)
